April 28, 2014

Hello Family!!

I don't think this p-day could have come any slower! Well it could have not come at all but that would have been lame! I don't know why but everything just seemed to ddddrrrraaaagggg.... This week was really strange and off for me and my district. Let me tell you about the week.

Tuesday was just a normal day! I don't really remember what we did on that day. We have been spending a lot of time finding new investigators cause our teaching pool went from like 15 to like 5.... And we don't really know what happened. When Mora left, it seemed like people just kinda disappeared. Lots of people moved and others don't want us coming anymore. It was strange! But my Ward Mission Leader told me not to get discouraged about being let go. The reason why they let us go is because they already have a strong testimony that they church is true and they need us to go out and let other people know about the message we have! I couldn't help but laugh but its a good way to keep from getting down I guess.

Wednesday was the TEMPLE TRIP!!!! It was spectacular!!!!!!! I love going to the Temple. There is no better place than the Temple on this entire Earth. I felt the Spirit SO strong!! I was kinda stressed about my district training for Thursday but I decided that I would just let it go while I was in the Temple. I remember earlier this week we were talking with someone about whether there was life on other worlds and he said no. But he is a member. And has gone through the Temple. But I remembered something in the video in the Temple that clears all that up! It is after Eve and Adam had partaken of the fruit and Christ and God are speaking to them and asked them why they took of the fruit. Eve said the serpent beguiled her. God called out Satan and cursed him for what he did. It was at this point that he says something to the point of, "If you are going to curse me for what has been done on other worlds...." This statement right here means that on other worlds, there must have been people. And they must have had the same kind of Tree. And Satan must have tempted them (or someone like Satan, but most likely Satan). And they partook of the fruit. We also are taught that Christ’s Atonement is for EVERYONE and I could almost promise that I remember hearing someone say it was for everyone on this world and all other worlds. Don't quote me on that but if you can find the quote too that would be sweet! Anyway, that was something that stuck out to me and was really cool! I love the feeling of the Celestial Room! There is something so amazing about being in a room full of people who are living the Gospel fully and all focused on being there to be close to God. Simply amazing! Then we went out to eat at some cafe' place that had really good chips and Salsa. There were 24 of us that went into this restaurant. they sat us at 8 to a table and had like 4 people serving us! At my table, we went through a total of 10 baskets of chips and 4 bowls of Salsa!! They just kept bringing them so we just kept eating them. It was definitely a record for me! Then we came home and visited Lalo and the family. Then we went home and I prepared for my training which was on "Testifying and Making Promises". Around 11 we went to bed.

Thursday around 3 a.m. I woke to not feeling very good. I walked around a little bit and went to the bathroom multiple times and eventually felt like, to quote Brian Regan, "All my insides wanted to be on my outside".... Yup.... My companion woke up to me coughing and gagging and crying and sniffling. It was red and I figured it was because of all the salsa I ate. He knocked on the door and asked me if I needed anything. I spent the rest of the night getting up every 30 minutes going to the bathroom.... Longest night of my life... I didn't really sleep the rest of that night. I texted Sister Killpack and asked her what I should do. I told her I was trying to sleep, I was taking small sips of water, I had taken some Tylenol, and some pepto bismal but with it wasn't helping. She said that the best thing I needed was sleep. She told me that if I needed to miss District Meeting to get some sleep then that’s what I needed to do. So I texted the ZL's and explained what was going on and then tried to sleep. Around 8 I fell asleep till 10. I felt alright so I asked the ZL's to come pick us up for meeting. Of course word had gotten around and everyone knew I was sick. So everyone was trying to help or make things easier for me. It was really nice but I kinda felt useless. :P Anyway, my training went good. We have been asked to try to only have like 25 minutes of training and 35 minutes of role play. Well, I spent about 50 minutes training and 10 minutes for role play... But my Zone Leader told me that he was really impressed. He expected it to be just kinda thrown together and rushed but that I did a very good job. When I got home for lunch after District Meeting, I went back into the bathroom for about 30 minutes and felt worse than I did that morning. So the only time we left the apartment after that was to get me some anti-bathroom pills. I don't like the word diarrhea. It just sounds like a dirty word to me. I spent the day watching Mormon messages and other random church movies we have lying around and Elder Siglin was working on his Chain Mail all day. Not a productive day....

Friday I still didn't feel good. One of our members wanted to help me feel better so he decided to treat us to Fuddruckers. It would have been great, except I still felt SICK!!! I am very grateful that he was willing to do that for me but I didn't feel good enough to eat at home, I don't think I would have felt good enough to eat at Fuddruckers. But it was really nice of him to try to help me feel better!

Saturday we went out finding cause I started to feel better. Nothing really happened that day. We didn't have any success finding today but I’m sure we will get some new investigators soon!

Sunday was good. It was really long though. I stayed in the Chapel for all 3 meetings. It was Ward Conference so all of our meetings were combined in some way. They were all about Hastening the Work. There was a scripture that Bishop read that was talking about feet. I can't remember what scripture it was though and I can't find it... But he was talking about how we need to watch where our feet are. Then he followed with "Stand Ye is Holy Places". He basically quoted dad right then and said, "So where are you headed?" Of course the picture of the road leading to the Temple that dad took with the words "Where Ya Headed?" came to mind. It was a great talk about how as we are heading in the right direction we will be guided to the right people and the right thing to say. That was what Church was about! I Loved it!

So I thought that his chain mail was kinda a weird thing. But he showed me some of the stuff that he does. It basically is what he does instead of draws. He isn't really a nerd like Xander ;) It is actually a really cool thing that he does. He makes bracelets and necklaces and such. He is teaching me how so that I can make presents for everyone! :)

Well I think that is about all the time that I have and all that I have to say! I love you all so much! Keep me in your prayers! We can really use them right now :)

Much love,

~Elder Kyle Harris

April 21, 2014

Hello Everyone!!! Man it seems like just yesterday I emailed you! You wouldn't think that a lot has happened in just 5 days but I have a lot to email and little time to do so! First and foremost,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICK!!!! I am a little late but I get to pull the missionary card because I have only limited time I can email. I hope it was a good one! I think that makes you like 25, right? ;)

So I told you about District Meeting and Lalo Jr in my last email. What I didn't tell you happened after I finished emailing. We were riding our bikes home and Lalo Sr. called us. He said that he and his wife were really struggling to make meats end and that a church would just put more pressure on them that they didn't need. So they were going to hold off on coming back to church and they weren't going to baptize their kids.... I was devastated..... So I had brother Thomas call them and he said that they were serious. So I had Elder Mora call them and he said "yup..... They dropped ya bro...." I didn't know what to do. Lalo Sr. said we were welcomed back anytime but that he didn't want us preaching. So I just kinda put it off to the side for the day cause it kinda hurt inside... Bishop had said that this same thing happened in the past. He said that they kids had baptism dates and they were helping them with rent and once the time came for them to come to church and follow up on their commitments that they bailed out then too. So we finished up Wednesday with a few lessons to active members and got in around 8:30. It was a weird day...

Thursday we were walking everywhere just for kicks and giggles. We figured that we would have more success walking than biking because we would be able to talk to more people. So we needed to get some vise-grips for Elder Siglin. Like I said in my last email, he makes CHAIN MAIL!!! He literally bought 500 feet of wire that he wraps around a little rod then cuts it with a hack saw. It comes out into little rings, which he then puts together. He just finished part of the thumb for a glove. It is the toughest part so we celebrated with some cake that his parents sent us for his birthday, which was on the 13th. Anyway, we were walking home and heard someone yelling. So we turned around and it was a shirtless black guy waving his arms around in the air and running towards us. So we went over and talked to him. He said his name was Reese and he and his fiancĂ© just moved here from St. Louis, Missouri with their 7 month old baby. He asked us if we were ministers for a Baptist church around here. We explained we were missionaries from our church and he said that he was looking for a church to attend here. He said that the church needed to be centered on families and have all the members be close and friends. Well how about that!! He took us to his apartment and introduced us to his fiance and his kid. We told him that we would stop by on Saturday to meet with him and his soon-to-be-wife. MIRACLE!!!!

Friday we went over to Lalo Sr.'s house to see how he was doing. We showed up and he was watching the new Superman movie. It was the last 5 minutes of the movie so we went into the kitchen where his wife, Stephanie, was making us food. They are always really good at knowing when we are going to show up! I swear that every time we have gone over there, they make us food. The movie finished and we ate our chorizo breakfast burritos. We sat down and asked him how he was feeling. He said that he was super stressed and the reason that he didn't want to come to church was because he didn't want to look like a hypocrite. We asked him if he though his family would ever look at him like a hypocrite and he said no. I explained that that is house the church is too. We are one giant family and we don't judge people at all. In fact, there would be more people excited to have him back than he could imagine. He said he wasn't sure so I asked him a question. "Do you believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true?" "I do brothers." he replied. I asked, "When we gave your son that Priesthood blessing, do you believe that it was done through the power of God and that he was healed." "I do brothers." he said again. After just sitting in silence for a second or two, he looked at us and said "Why would I go to any other church then? I mean when I wanted to get married to Stephanie, the brothers were there. When my youngest son was in the hospital, the only people that showed up were the brothers. When my daughter was in the hospital with a hole in her heart, the brothers came and blessed her and she was healed. When Lalo Jr. was in the hospital, the only people that showed up were the brothers. We need God in our lives and we need to make Sunday a day for God. There is no better place than the Church to go on Sundays. We will be there Sunday brothers." Wow.... Didn't expect that at all!!! He called his wife and kids into the room and told them they were going to church on Sunday. They were all super excited to go. So I jumped on that excitement and told them a little story. "If you were on a boat in the middle of the ocean and you couldn't see any land in any direction, how long would it take you before you gave up hope to get back to land? Pretty short, Right? But if you saw land out in the distance,  you would have the urge to give it everything you could to get to that goal to live right? Well without goals in our lives, that's how we are too. But with a goal, we put for the effort to make things happen. So lets make a goal for you as a family. Isaac and Korina (those are the kids) will you guys prepare to be baptized on the 10th of May? And Lalo and Stephanie, will you guys help prepare your kids to be baptized by getting them to church every week and praying as a family?" THEY SAID YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They then invited us after church on Sunday to come to their house for an Easter party. Of course we said yes! What a miracle!

On Sunday, Lalo came to church!!! It was so great to have them there! After Sacrament meeting they needed to jet out but before they did, Bishop said he wanted to meet with them. They went in and were in there for about 30 minutes. They are struggling financially and so bishop said that by Wednesday, if they still needed help that they church would help them out. Sweet! So they left to go get ready for the party. The rest of Church was weird. In Priesthood, they just brought up a talk by Elder Oaks on their smart phone and put it next to the microphone for us to listen to. And that was it. It was a great talk but that isn't really how church should be, you know? There was no talking about the talk afterwards or discussion or anything. It was a great talk but I don't know if I really learned anything from it, you know? So after church, we went to Lalo's. It was a BLAST!!! They asked us to go outside and hide about 250 eggs for the kids to go find. There were 8 kids looking. It took us about 20 minutes to hide them all and about 3 minutes for them to find them. Ha! Gotta love kid's enthusiasm! They BBQ'd and it was delicious! All in all, it was a great Easter Sunday!

I love Elder Siglin! He is the bomb! :)

I love you all so much! Thank you for being so amazing! I LOVE YOU!!!

~Elder Kyle Harris

p.s. I go to the Temple on Wednesday this week. I just found out yesterday so SURPRISE!!! Our session starts at 10 :)

April 16, 2014

Hello Family!!! Man, this week was just FULL!!! I loved all of it and have so much to say and so little time to write so I will just have to type fast!

Last Monday was a great p-day. We went hiking and I really burned my neck. But it is feeling much better now and my arms are super tan! We didn't do anything else special on Monday but relax.

Tuesday was "The Day". It is the mission wide exchange (within your zone) and you focus on one aspect of the work. This time we focused on how many people we invited. I was with Elder Van Noy. I love Van Noy!! He is a sign language missionary and has been out for about 18 months or so now. He actually served in the Palo Verde ward just over a year ago so it was really cool for him to see the people that he re-activated and old friends he had from the ward. The only down side to Tuesday was the fact that Sam, one of our investigators, found himself on an anti-mormon site or 2 and had LOTS of questions for us. Most of them were super tough to answer so we told him that we would have to get copies of the questions and look them up later so that we could give him complete answers, not just our opinions. Other than that, it was a great day!

Wednesday we had Zone meeting. We talked about making priorities and goals and how if we just have a short term goal then the long term goal we want to reach may not be able to be reached. It was really good and an eye opener for me. We met with Anita tonight. She is..... as quoted by 3 different people, "Scatterbrained". We are not sure if she is all there to be completely honest but she has a desire to learn. The problem is that when she asks us a question, we try to answer her and in the middle of the answer, she asks another question then gets mad that our answer doesn't match up with the second question that she asked. This happens a lot... On our way to the clubhouse for the lesson, we said hi to a few people but didn't actually stop, just waved as we passed by. And Anita flipped out! She claimed that we didn't actually want to meet with her and junk like that. So she stormed out of the lesson. So we started to walk back to our apartment and met a guy named Eli (I think). When Anita saw that we were fine with her leaving, she came back and tried to push her way into the conversation by asking really pressing questions like "Are you Mormon? Well why not??" It was really embarrassing. She told us before she really left that maybe sister missionaries would be better for her. So we invited them over yesterday to meet with her (I’ll tell that story in a bit...)

Thursday we got a call from a less-active member in our ward that no one has heard from for like 4 years. He said that he lost his job and his kids wanted to start going back to church. So on Friday, we went over and talked with him. He name is Lalo Paramo. He is married and has 3 kids: Lalo Jr is 17 and lives with his grandparents, their daughter is 13 and their other son is 10. When the younger kids came home from school, Lalo Sr. asked them "Hey do you guys want to get baptized??" "YYYYEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!" they yelled back! So we taught them the restoration and challenged them to read from the Book of Mormon as a family to which they accepted!! :)

Saturday was not good though.... Lalo Sr. called us and said that he would have to cancel his appointment because Lalo Jr. was in the Emergency Room in Intensive care. It turns out that Lalo Jr. was given some new drugs for his depression and he purposefully overdosed on them to take away his own life... It was really depressing to hear... We went to the hospital along with a member named brother Thomas. He knows the Paramo famliy very well. So we went over and only Lalo Sr. and Brother Thomas we allowed in to see him. After an hour or so, we left and couldn't get Lalo Jr. out of our minds. So we said lots of prayers for him! He was released on Sunday right after church. We went over as soon as we could and then us and the Paramo Family went to Lalo Sr.'s parents house where Lalo Jr. was staying. On our way, we were told that Lalo Jr. was having a mental break down... So we booked it over there and as soon as we showed up, the grandfather who had been comforting Lalo Jr. felt like he was starting to get a heart attack due to his stress level. So we got him away from Lalo Jr. and 4 of us picked him up off the floor and carried him inside and laid him on his bed where he couldn't settle down and couldn't stop crying. All of the family came in and tried to cheer him up but nothing worked... He was just as distressed as before. His grandmother came in saying, "Stop it this instant or I'm taking you back to the Hospital where you belong!" That's when we jumped in. We explained that we had the same priesthood that Jesus Christ had on the earth when he was here and that we could help people heal just as Christ did as long as it is God's will. Lalo's Parents quickly said yes so we gave him a blessing. I anointed and Elder Mora sealed and gave him the blessing. When I was anointing, Lalo Jr. went from crying and shaking to quiet and gently rocking. Then Mora proceeded to give the blessing and he stopped crying completely and just laid there in total peace. The Spirit was so strong when we finished the blessing. He sat up and hugged all of his family members one by one and they all cried tears of Joy that things were going to be better. Both grandparents then asked us for blessings as well for his heart to stop hurting and for her stress to go away. Those blessings were very powerful too. Lalo Jr. got into some normal clothes and just talked with him for like 45 minutes. He explained that he has been going through a lot and didn't know where to turn to. We asked if he'd like to learn about the power we blessed him with and how Christ can help him out. He said yes! It was such a powerful experience for me to be apart of. I realized something as well, we are the only church that has the Priesthood. The ONLY one! And yet sometimes we are at church and take the sacrament without even realizing how lucky we are to be apart of such an AMAZING ordinance. There is no reason that the Spirit can't be in our sacrament meetings as powerfully as It is in the Temples. At church we are making very special promises just like we do in the temple. At church we have the chance to be enlightened by the Spirit just like we can in the Temple. Of course there are differences between the two of them but there shouldn't be a difference in our hearts when we go to church and when we go to the Temple. Church can be the greatest 3 hours of our week if we allow it to be. So why don't we...? I don't have an answer for that.. But I do know this, that we are privileged to be able to be apart of this church. And if we take the time to prepare ourselves to go to church as much as we prepare ourselves to go to the Temple that we can have an experience that words cannot describe.

Sunday night we got calls... President was calling... If the Zone Leaders text you then that means that you aren't getting transferred. If the Assistants to the President call you that means that you are not getting stepped up into a leadership position, just transferred out. If President calls, that means that you are getting transferred AND stepped up into a leadership position. Guess who called.... I answered and heard "Elder Harris, this is President Killpack. How are you doing?" He asked to be put onto speaker. He started with Elder Mora. "Elder Mora. The Lord would like you to be a District Leader in the El Rio Spanish Branch in the West Zone. How do you feel about that?" ELDER MORA IS A DISTRICT LEADER!!! I laughed at him thinking that I just got out of stepped up!.... my laughing was interrupted when President said, "Elder Harris, The Lord would like you to be a District Leader in the Palo Verde in the East Zone. How do you feel about that?" I said that I would love to then we got of the phone. We went CRAZY!!! So yes, I am a District Leader. :) I am super nervous about it but I can't wait to see how things go!

Monday was spent on goodbye's for Elder Mora. We were out till 10:30 p.m. before we even left for home to start packing. I couldn't just sleep while Elder Mora stayed up and packed. So I stayed up with him. Our ride showed up at 5:30 a.m... I fell asleep for about 30 minutes between 2:30 and 3:00 a.m. It was so much fun but it was a long night... BUT DID YOU SEE THAT MOON!?!?!?! It was an eclipse!!! So I went out every 15 to 20 minutes and just watched the shadow of the earth slowly cover the moon! I got lots of pictures!! It was a blood moon too so in the pictures its red. :) It was beautiful!! I am really going to miss Elder Mora but I can't wait for my new companion. He was coming from the Gila Valley so he didn't show up till like 3. We played basketball and played around and just hung out till he showed up. His name is Elder Siglin. He is 21 and from Rochester, New York. He's been out for 9 months, just 1 transfer less than me. He is about 6' 3" but really skinny. He isn't like Xander skinny but he's not big like me. ;) He likes to play basketball for fun, not necessarily for competition. He also loves making chain mail! He made a glove and a sweet bracelet AND A TIE!!!! It is super legit! :) I am super stoked for the transfer!!

Today is obviously Wednesday which means that I gave my first training. I found out what I was going to be training on yesterday and stayed up till about 11 last night preparing. It was on "Unity With Your Companionship in Teaching". For my demonstration about unity, I went into the gym and had Elder Alston come into the middle with me. I told him that I was going to get him the ball and do his thing but he couldn't know the plan. So he took off and totally missed the pass. It was on the other side of the gym... So we got back on the line and told him we were going to change the play cause that last one didn't work. So he took off running and I tried to hand the ball off to the person behind me but he wasn't there. For the 3rd time I told him the play and he ran out and caught the pass. I explained that if we don't go into a lesson with the same mentality or goals in mind then we can't succeed. So we talked about things we can do before the lesson and during the lesson to help us have more unity in our companionship. I showed some examples from the Preach My Gospel DVD's that helped us see what the difference is when we are unified. For our role play, Elder Siglin and I were teaching about the Book of Mormon to Elder Maughen (M-on) who was pretending to be an investigator. The catch was to help us pay attention to what our companion was saying that Elder Maughen would snap his fingers and the other person would have to pick up right where the first person stopped, even if it was mid sentence. It was a great demonstration. Then I had them role play that same thing too with each other. It was awesome!! It went much better than I anticipated. :) Maybe this wont be too bad!

Well that is about everything that has happened this week! We have less than a month till we get to Skype!! 3 weeks and 4 days. That is only 25 days away!! I think that I might can wait that long. :) I love you all so much!!! I can't wait to hear from you again soon!!

~Elder Kyle Harris

p.s. If you can get me Alisha Sheely's email or address that would be way sweet :) love ya!

April 7, 2014

Hello Everyone! Man this week was incredible! I feel like not even very much happened but it was packed full! We hit Standards of Excellence again this week! We got 3 news, 9 lessons with a Member Present, 3 people with baptism dates and 2 of them came to church! So things are definitely working out well with out investigators! Also our ward is amazing! We had a ward activity this weekend. Lets start with that.

So it was on Friday at 6:30. We came up with 2 names for it: "Who Wants To Be A Missionary" or "Are You Smarter Than A Missionary". So the ward showed up at 6:30 and we had pulled pork sandwiches. At 7:15, they split up into 2 different classrooms. In one classroom was Elder Mora and I as well as Sisters Houston and Yarbarough. In the other room was Elders Ginn and Williamson as well as Sisters Rockwood and Magneson. Me, Mora, Houston and Yarbarough taught what we call the "Commissary Commitment" and the other Elders and Sisters taught the "Willing and Brief". Both of these are ways to invite people to learn about the church. We split it up this way so that each of the classrooms got taught both ways to invite people. The "Willing and Brief" is basically an invitation saying "Would you be willing to listen to a brief message about _________ (use any subject in the church. i.e. Prophets, Jesus Christ, etc.) from some _______ (use adjectives here. i.e. Awesome, Fantastic, etc.) missionaries?" It is really simple to use and helps people be more open to sharing the Gospel with others. The "Commissary Commitment" starts off with 1st Nephi 8:12. This is the Tree of Life vision and in this verse, it is talking about Lehi partaking of the fruit and the joy it brought to his soul and he wanted to share it with other people. He could have been like, "Look at this tree. Isn't it pretty? Come to it." but I feel like it was more like, "Look at this tree! And this fruit! Here, take this and see for yourself and experience this same joy I had!" Therefore, the fruit was his tool in sharing the Gospel. Having a tool makes sharing the Gospel much easier! So we brought up what makes people happy in the Gospel and they said things like "The focus on family, the Priesthood, a Prophet, knowing God has a plan for me" and so on. Amazingly enough, missionaries have pamphlets that cover almost every topic that was stated that brought joy! We also have copies of the Book of Mormon and copies of "The Family: A Proclamation To The World". We demonstrated how you would give a piece of commissary to someone and using it as a tool to help them want to learn more about the church. This coupled with the "Willing and Brief" is an amazingly simple way to invite people to learn about the church! We handed out the pieces of commissary they wanted to hand out with the deal that whatever they took, they had to give out. We then told them a story. A man is in the middle of the ocean and can’t see land in any direction. After just not very long, he will lose hope and just accept defeat. But if he sees an island, he will be much more determined to row! That island is a goal for him. When we have goals in life, it helps us be more determined to reach our potential and gives us a reason to try harder. So we then challenged them to invite someone to learn from the missionaries by April 20th. That is Easter Sunday. They accepted with enthusiasm! Then we combined together and played a game of trivia to help the members see that they know a lot of what the missionaries teach already and that missionary work isn't hard. It was to show them that when they come out with us, they can put in their two cents and hopefully more! To finish the night off, President Killpack and Sister Killpack came and talked with everyone about missionary work too. They explained that people will say no. But that the purpose of a missionary is to INVITE, not force. We are successful as we invite and we leave it up to people to use their agency to accept our invitation. It was perfect! THEN in conference, one of the General Authorities invited EVERYONE to invite 4 people to listen to the missionaries a year. If everyone did so, that would be 60 million people invited EVERY YEAR! That is insane!!! But wouldn't it be absolutely amazing?! So the ward party was a success and everyone loved it! President and Sister Killpack texted us and said that they thought we did really good with it and it was awesome! WOOT!!!

Conference was awesome!!! I wish that I had brought my notes with me though cause then I could share my favorite talks with you! I will be going over them again as soon as I get the ensign for next month! But i absolutely loved it! My Favorite sessions were the very first one and Priesthood session. We unfortunately missed the first talk of the last session on Sunday. We missed Elder Packers talk... I was told that it was amazing though!! One of the members said that it sounded like Elder McConkie’s last testimony. They are worried this could have been his last as well... I sure hope not! Elder Hales looked really sick too... But some of the things that I do remember is when Elder Holland said that he knew that Jesus Christ lived more surely than he knew that he was standing in front of us today. WOW!!!! Then when President Eyring was talking about Heroes, he mentioned that we are all heroes to those around us, especially in our quorums. Boys, you are examples to so many people around you. At school, at church, even at sports there are people watching you who look up to you and watch your every move to be like you. Don't let them down. You have a lot of responsibility! I loved Elder Oaks talk in Priesthood session and I loved Elder Donald L. Hallstrom's talk right after Elder Oaks. Both were amazing!! Apparently, there women protesting not being able to get into the priesthood session. They received a letter from the First Presidency encouraging them to watch it on t.v. or on the internet. When someone talked to one of the main protesters after the session, she said this, "I liked it a lot but there wasn't really anything that applied to me." WELL DUH!!! That is because the Priesthood Session is for MEN to come learn how to be better PRIESTHOOD HOLDERS!!! That is why it is called "Priesthood Session" Not "Late Sunday Night Session for EVERYONE"... That was my little rant for the day :)

We met this guy named Sam this week! We went to go see Amidah but she wasn't home at all this week... so one day as we were walking down the stairs from her apartment, we looked up and saw a picture of Jesus in someone’s window. But not just any picture, one that the church specifically puts out! So we went over and knocked on the door and he had over like 50 pictures of and quotes about Jesus Christ in his front room alone. It is AWESOME!!! So we started to teach him the Restoration and he loved it! Hopefully we get to meet with him again soon. We are scheduled for this Tuesday for 3:00. Wish us luck!

Thank you for the package this week as well! It was exactly what I needed :) I will talk to you guys on skype soon!!!
